Biography
Andre' R. Nunn, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Nunn obtained his undergraduate degree in
biology and chemistry at the University of Alabama at
Birmingham in 1985 and his Medical degree at The
University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1990.

He completed his residency in General Surgery at
Marshall University School of Medicine, Huntington,
WV in 1995. Dr. Nunn has been on staff at the
Detroit Medical Center since 1995 and has been a
clinical assistant professor of surgery since 2000.

He obtained his board certification from the American
Board of Surgery in 1997 and became a Fellow of
the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.) in
1998. He has numerous honors including the Wayne
State Department of Surgery Theodore McGraw
Clinical Faculty Teaching Award in 2001.

He was also awarded as one of Hour
Magazines, “Top Doctor’s in Detroit” in 2003.

He has memberships in multiple academic societies
which include The National Medical Association,
Detroit Medical Society, Detroit Surgical Association,
The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, Society
of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons,
The American Society for Bariatric Surgeons and
The American College of Surgeons.

His clinical interests include benign and malignant
breast surgery, minimally invasive and laparoscopic
colon surgery, laparoscopic ventral and inguinal
hernia surgery, as well as minimally invasive
hemorrhoid surgery.  

His other clinical interests include minimally invasive
bariatric surgery including Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y
Gastric Bypass and Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric
Band (‘Lap-Band’) surgery.
